Here is a free sample letter that you can use to get your rental deposit back.

Your landlord must return your security deposit within six months. If the landlord refuses to return the deposit, you can do the following.

• Send a letter requesting the refund of the rental deposit via registered mail.
• Get support from the tenant's association (Mieterverein)
• Get support from a lawyer
